If you're looking for ways to keep your outside sales staff happy, then you should consider offering them some attractive perks. While there are lots of things you could offer, the following list is particularly good for outside sales staff who work selling lumber.  So, here are a few things to consider.

A Company Truck

Lumber sales will require your sales staff to drive to lots of different work sites and lots. They will be driving to large construction sites, as well as commercial lumber yards that might be reselling your product. Therefore, they will need a truck. If they currently have a really small sedan, they might run into trouble driving around unpaved lots. This is especially true if you're dealing with a rural area where there are lots of dirt roads and construction going on in areas that have been freshly cleared of timber. If you can't afford to lease new trucks, then another cool idea is to get GPS for your employees. This is helpful for reps who are traveling to a new place every week. Part of the challenge when selling lumbar is that your sales reps are going to be around rough environments.
