About Me
Becoming More Familiar With Technology

When my wife lost her job, I knew that I was going to have to go back to school. Unfortunately, I realized that I needed to spruce up my computer skills, since it had been years since I had used a word processor. I was really devastated, and I knew that I needed to make a few changes. I enrolled in a community tech class, where we learned everything from basic computer skills to blog design. I want other people to hone their technology skills, which is why this blog is here. Read more about a litany of technology subjects by perusing these blogs.

If you run a business, there is a good chance that you want to keep your clients as happy as possible so that they continue to purchase your product. This is important because it will allow you to leverage word of mouth to help your business be as successful as possible. However, keeping your clients happy as you manage their accounts can be easier said than done. Here are some tips for keeping your clients happy while you manage their accounts.

1. Use Software to Keep Track of Obligations

If you tell a client that something will be done, you need to make sure that you take whatever steps are necessary to fulfill this promise by the time that you said. You don't want to ask for an extension of deadlines. You don't want to tell your client that it wasn't able to be done. You need to make promises and then fulfill them. The easiest way to do this is to keep track of all of the obligations that you have made. For this, you will need to invest some good account management software. This software will allow you to add notes to the files that you have on each of your clients. Those notes will have deadlines that you can add to your calendar so that you know exactly when everything that you promised is due. Be sure that you religiously update this software in order to make it as effective as possible.

2. Be Clear on Company Flaws

The next thing that you need to do is be as upfront as possible about the potential flaws in the company. Sometimes, not all expectations will not be able to be met. If you tell the client ahead of time, rather than make promises that your company cannot possibly keep, then you will help build trust with the client. Your client doesn't expect your company to be perfect, but they do need information to be able to plan around your company's imperfections. Keep your clients up to date on any problems that could affect them.

3. Keep Everyone Updated

Use the account management software to update both your higher-ups, as well as your contact at the client's company. This will allow you to be able to automatically update all interested parties on the progress of the client's order and ensure that people have the information needed to make the best decisions possible.
